This beautiful harbour of Sydney....

OR.......... How's the serenity!!!

Chuckle........... today we decided to take our boat out and have a picnic lunch on north harbour. We are so lucky in Sydney to have a lot of access points without having to actually go right into the city.

It was hit and miss weather wise but when we launched, it was so lovely. There's this pelican that loves to hang around the wharf, it's near Greenwich, north Sydney. Look at the face!
Then there was another one that came in to land as we pulled in to drift awhile. We went to find a bit of a cove that wasn't too windy to have lunch. As we were getting ready to move on, hubby says, hey there's a bird caught in that yatch's net.

I'm always amazed at these people who leave their boats moored for so long that the birds make a massive mess on them. To stop this people think putting these stupid flimsy looking nets will help, but they don't maintain them.

This poor little fellow must have been caught a long time, coz he was rather weak and didn't do any whoopsies when my hubby covered him with a towel and proceeded to cut him free. It took ages, the poor thing had really done a tangle job. Got him in the boat, gave him some prawns from the fishing bait, starving he was. We put him back in the water to recover as quickly as we could. I know it was only a seagull but they are still rather beautiful birds.

This one was sitting on a rock by the wharf when we were waiting to bring the boat back in and onto the trailer, cheeky little thing it looked.

The weather turned yucko so we headed back via an old ship wreck to see if I could get some good photos of it as the tide was the lowest I'd seen in years. You usually can't see the wreck much but today wow, it must have been one big ship in it's time.

This last one is the view out the back of the boat as we went back to the wharf, and here's the wharf we launch at, quite a busy little one on a Saturday. The shipwreck is only around the cove a short way from this wharf too.

I'll leave you with the last of the pelican photos I took, oh he was soooo funny as I gave him the last of the prawns and squid bate hubby didn't use.
