PINK PINK PINK PINK.....

What a fabulous night we had on Friday with our Pink Card Day launch at the Girls Night In over on the Scrapper's Stash forum. Lots of challenges are up and if you want to have a go, the deadline isn't till Monday night (8th) to upload pictures of your creations to the Gallery.

Everyone went to the pink extreme! We had pink makeup, nails, pj's, clothes, food and lots of pink creations were made and are still being made. There's Pink Ribbon Day merchandise in the Stash's shop if you'd like to purchase something to help fund raise and there's donation buttons in there as well if you'd like to do that.

Our Fearless Leader, Jenni has been working her fingers to the bone getting all the card/embellishment packs together and out to those who signed up to make cards. Most are done and either on their way or about to be sent to participants. Many thanks to Jenni's parents for helping put the packs together too.

This is the first year and place that something like this has ever been done. It's all 'baby' steps at the moment and some trial and error. Stay tuned in the coming months as well because next year's is going to be huge! Plans are already underway to get going for 2008 as soon as this month's pledges are done and in.

So don't worry if you didn't make it to join in this year, though you can still make cards to donate and send them up to Jenni for the whole of this month. Everyone will be advised via the forum and emails amongst some ways, on next year's event!

Now onto an off Pink topic for a little bit...........

Yes, it's about 'the teenager' but it's all good this time.

On Friday night before his work shift, he had to go to a meeting with the area manager at one of their offices. He was picked up and taken and brought home in time to have tea and get to the store for his shift. We thought he was doing a training course for 3 hours, which is what he thought too.

We were surprized he was home after an hour. When he told us what the meeting was about we were really taken back. The company have offered him a Traineeship ( as endorsed by the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Boards).

We were a bit concerned that he may have had to leave school, he's in his final year of junior high and about to do his exams next term. He's also booked and registered to attend senior college next year, all subjects chosen too.

Well this is part time they explained, done during his casual shifts they tell us. No way is he to leave school, they wouldn't dream of him doing that. Yay!! At the end of this, he will have a certificate 2 in Retail Administration. Plus they've said they'd put him through further certificated training as well after that if he wants to do it.

How good is that!! He trotted off to work last night, though he's not feeling well at all (a bit of a cough and cold and hayfever is getting to him) but he didn't say he didn't want to go in and he's got another shift tonight as well.

After all the whooohaaaaa lately, I'm so relieved things like this are happening. Keeping him busy and learning, it's all good. He's pleased that he's already chosen subjects next year that are business studdy related, so he'll have a bit of a head start before he gets to year 11.
